Vanamahotsav Plantation Drive held in church premises

Belvai, July 05, 2026: As part of the Vanamahotsav celebrations, a plantation drive was organized at the church premises and walking track in collaboration with the Commission for Environment and various Parish Associations. The initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices among parishioners.

Representatives from all seven wards, along with members of the parish associations, enthusiastically participated in the drive by planting a variety of flowering plants, fruit-bearing saplings, vegetable plants, and other greenery across the church campus. The collective effort reflected the parish community's commitment to caring for nature and creating a greener environment for future generations.

The plantation drive witnessed the active participation of Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Joseph Alphonse Cardoza, Parishioner Priest Rev. Fr. Elias Cardoza, the Sisters, Parish Council members, association members, and numerous parishioners. Their wholehearted involvement underscored the importance of environmental conservation as a shared responsibility.

The event concluded with a message encouraging everyone to continue nurturing the planted saplings and to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives. Through initiatives like Vanamahotsav, the parish reaffirms its commitment to protecting God's creation while fostering environmental responsibility within the community.
