Thanksgiving and Fellowship Mark Seniors’ Day

Belvai, August 17, 2025: Under the leadership of the Commission for Family, Seniors’ Day was joyfully celebrated at our parish, honouring the elderly members of the parish community. The programme began with a special thanksgiving Mass, offered for the intentions and well-being of senior citizens. Parishioners expressed their gratitude for the wisdom, faith, and service of the elders who form the foundation of the community.

After the liturgy, a short stage program and an entertainment program, featuring games and dance, were presented, adding color to the celebration. Seniors were treated to a fellowship meal, making the day one of joy and togetherness. Each senior was given a gift as a memento. 

Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Joseph Alphonse Cardoza demonstrated exercises to stay healthy.  

Parish Council Vice President Lavina Cardoza, Secretary Jacintha Rego, 21 Pastoral Commissions Convenor Veera Pereira, Mariam Niketan Convent Superior Sr Evelyn Crasta, and Parish Council members were present. 

Commission for Family Secretary Blanch Salis welcomed, Convenor Steevan Tauro proposed a vote of thanks, and Sweeta Dmello compered the event.
